Communications Room Talk #08: Creating a Better World through Purpose-Driven Initiatives

Welcome to a special edition of the Communications Room Talk podcast! Today, the hosts Mark and Hartmut are introducing the first part of the Purpose Dialog, an event that brought together Gen Z members and the business world to exchange concepts for a purposeful economy. The event featured panelists Eva Pomeroy from the Presencing Institute, Joep Cornelissen from Erasmus University, Allan Moelholm from kaerly, Thimo Kühner from Stabilo, Frank Thiele from Meet Your Purpose, Franz Allmayer from digihub.li, as well as Amelie Kurz and Lisa Eggert from the University of Munich.

In companies this kind od learning should be introduced because that leads to real innovation. She appreciated the energy of Generation Z which is highly needed to get change done.
  • Timo expressed his strong impression about how reflected Gen Z people are. Based on that he sees a real chance that change to the positive will happen. As an example of common ground he mentioned what his company does concerning Mental Health.
  • Frank agreed with Amelie and Lisa that companies need to create an authentic purpose. Building systems of belief and values that form all business decisions was seen as critical to creating that credible and authentic purpose. Based on that, individuals and companies can come together by overlapping purposes. He saw a strong purpose as a way to attract and retain talent in organizations.
  • Franz talked about the need to repurpose money away from just anthropocentric spending in today’s market economy. He voted for new forms of transparent businesses aligning conscious producers with conscious consumers.
  • Allan appreciated how strong the Gen Z demands Amelie and Lisa presented resonate with the needs of societies and individuals. According to him business is here to make a positive contribution to society and to overcome just egoistic motives.
